Recurring Expenses

Recurring Expenses

Recurring expenses let you model bills, subscriptions, and regular income that repeat on a schedule. Ledgr generates entries automatically — you set it once and forget it.

Creating a Recurring Item

  1. Tap + Add → Add Expense / Income on the Home tab
  2. Fill in the amount, type, category, and other details
  3. Toggle Recurring on
  4. Choose a frequency and configure the schedule
  5. Tap Save

Frequency Options

FrequencyDescription
DailyRepeats every N days
WeeklyRepeats on selected days of the week
BiweeklyRepeats every 2 weeks
Twice MonthlyGenerates on the 15th and last day of every month
MonthlyRepeats every N months on the same day
YearlyRepeats every N years on the same date

Interval

For Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly frequencies you can set an interval (1–30). For example:

  • Monthly, interval 3 = every quarter
  • Weekly, interval 2 = every two weeks (same as Biweekly)

End Date

Leave End Date blank for an indefinite recurring item. Set a date to stop generation automatically after that date.

Managing Recurring Items

Generated occurrences appear in your transaction list like any other entry. They are marked with a repeat icon (⟳).

Deleting a Recurring Entry

Swipe right on any recurring transaction. You will be asked:

OptionWhat it does
Delete this occurrence onlyRemoves just this one entry. Future entries continue as normal
Delete this & future occurrencesRemoves this entry and all future ones. Past entries remain
Delete all occurrencesRemoves every entry in this series, past and future

Pausing & Resuming

To temporarily stop a recurring series without deleting it:

  1. Go to Settings → (future: Recurring tab) — or edit the recurring item directly
  2. Toggle the series to Paused

Paused series stop generating new occurrences. Resume at any time to continue from where you left off.
